Our Internship Program
Brakebush partners with families, technical colleges and universities to provide a 12-14+ week paid summer internship program for a valuable opportunity in the poultry and food industry. We aim to offer a robust and engaging experience by creating projects and assignments with clear goals that help young adults explore career options and develop critical work skills while they bring a fresh perspective to our processes.
At the end of the program, interns and hiring managers review the experience, project results and discuss next career steps. It is our hope to identify and retain talented individuals that choose Brakebush as their employer of choice and make a positive impact here. Summer internships are hosted in multiple states.

What to expect
Summer internships at Brakebush are project-based. Interns experience a variety of projects that can include data collection, analysis, reporting, data entry, policy and procedure, market research and more. At the end of the summer internship program, we host a banquet, so interns have an opportunity to showcase their projects to various leaders within Brakebush.
Our immersive summer internship program offers opportunities for interns to learn about Brakebush culture, operations and more. Our goal is that interns have a better understanding of the business and challenges of their assigned department, and a greater knowledge of what leads to success in a food manufacturing business.
How to prepare
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited school. Offers are made after careful evaluation of resumes, onsite interview and specific department assessments.
- We are committed to the continuous improvement of each intern. As they progress through the program, interns are expected to provide weekly reports, assignment updates and ongoing feedback about their internship experience.
- An immersive learning experience balances projects and Brakebush culture. There are opportunities to participate in networking events, business meetings and Learning & Development (L&D) activities.
