JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary: The Marketing Specialist supports the marketing department’s initiatives with the planning, executing, communicating, tracking, and evaluating of marketing programs, such as product and promotional campaigns. This position conducts market research and provides insights for marketing campaigns, market trends and the competitive landscape to keep the company on track to reach our sales goals.
Essential Functions:
- Manages marketing campaigns, including communicating campaign deliverables, objectives, and timelines to project teams and vendors, ordering marketing collateral, managing database, and providing instructions for promotion or use
- Evaluates and monitors campaign performance on an ongoing basis by developing and analyzing key metrics, organizing project calendars, and creating comprehensive reports
- Evaluates and maintains brand image and product information on all platforms and materials to ensure consistent messaging – including website and external database
- Maintains inventory and directory of sales support materials, including those for trade shows, conferences, events, and meetings, by identifying, coordinating, and assembling requirements and making sure all resources are accurate and current while coordinating new material creation as needed
- Conducts research into competitive landscape, market trends and customer behavior and prepare reports by collecting, summarizing, and analyzing data
- Manages relationships with external vendors to ensure high-quality and timely execution of marketing programs and to ensure competitiveness
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications or related field or 3-5 years of experience in marketing
- Must have strong organizational and project management skills as well as attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Firm grasp on various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices
- Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Must have strong analytical skills to analyze metrics and create reports
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior business-to-business marketing experience
- Ability to work independently and function as part of a team
- Willingness to advance knowledge and skills by attending training and conferences and sharing with other team members
Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment: The work environment is an office environment in a cubicle with standard temperatures and normal office noise levels. Subject to extended periods of sitting, working on PC and talking on telephone.
Physical Demands: This position would be primarily sitting with little to no lifting or other physical demands.
Position Type: Non-Exempt, 1st shift; Possibility for remote work depends on candidate’s skills.
Travel: Occasional local travel may be required. Overnight travel for meetings and training may occur a few times per year.
