JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary: Under the direction of the Human Resources (HR) Manager & Supervisor, the HR Associate performs the necessary functions to support the HR Team. Such functions include, onboarding, processing terminations, maintaining company training and personnel files, assisting with benefit questions, and assisting with other HR office functions as needed. The position requires frequent contact with personnel inside and outside the company, requiring reasonable tact, discretion, interpersonal skills, and working knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Assists in our onboarding and offboarding process. The incumbent will assist in onboarding new hires. Including processing hires in EC, completing the I-9, and updating spreadsheets. The incumbent will assist in offboarding employees. Including deleting their badge, processing termination in EC and updating spreadsheets. Ensuring all information is accurate from start to finish.
- Maintains company training and personnel files. The incumbent will support company trainings including maintaining our company training and personnel files.
- Serves as a representative for employee benefit programs. The incumbent will assist employees with questions regarding benefit programs such as medical, life, dental, and vision insurances.
- Other HR Duties: The incumbent will assist in creating replacement badges for employees, answering phone calls and employee questions and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Associate degree and 1+ years of Human Resources experience OR 2+ years of HR experience in Human Resources role(s).
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
- Proficient in both oral and written communication
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook/other e-mail software
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in food processing/manufacturing environment.
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Work Environment: The work environment is an office environment with standard temperatures and normal office noise levels.
Physical Demands: This position would be primarily sitting with little to no lifting or other physical demands. Subject to extended periods of sitting, working on PC and talking on telephone.
