JOB DESCRIPTION 
 
Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor, 3rd shift offers a 3 day long weekend off every-other week!  This highly visible position is responsible for the effective utilization of the team to address plant process, equipment, and facility upkeep. With a “One Team, One Mission” approach, this position collaborates across teams and with multiple departments (Production, Utilities, Planning, Safety) to support consistent production, minimize downtime, and enforce HACCP, USDA, and food safety protocol, all while providing continued growth opportunities to our team members 

 

To comply with Minnesota’s Pay Transparency Law, total annual estimated compensation range with bonus for this position is up to $104,491.00, based on experience, skills, and performance.

Essential Functions: 

  • Supervises the activities of Maintenance Techs and Apprentices, to track completion of work orders, planned repairs/projects, and preventative maintenance. Includes administration of scheduling, time and attendance, performance feedback and follow-up to ensure optimal job performance.  
  • Ensures quick and effective response to line breakdowns. Investigates and completes failure analysis on work order challenges and works through appropriate actions with teams to prevent future breakdowns.  
  • Communicates with Supervisors across shifts, and other departments regularly to coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules, providing breakdown and equipment repair status reports. 
  • Provide a safe environment for continued growth.  Ensuring teamwork/cooperation among employees.  Effectively resolving issues, problems, and complaints.  Maintaining successful personal development through training opportunities.  Maximizing team member job performance while maintaining safety procedures and policies. 

 
Required Qualifications:  

  • 7 plus years’ experience in an Industrial Mechanics/related position OR a related degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, to include professional oral and written communication, a team focused approach, and proven ability to drive successul teams.   

 
Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience in food manufacturing facilities, Poultry experience is a plus
  • Regulatory compliance knowledge, including USDA regulations, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety (SQF)  
  • Experience with maintenance management systems  
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)       


Supervisory Responsibility: This position will be responsible for supervising Maintenance / Electrical team members at the our Wells, MN facility.  

Work Environment: Manufacturing and office environments

Physical Demands: Position will include extensive standing, sitting, lifting, climbing ladders, wearing factory required equipment while working in production, walking, visual, responding quickly to sounds and driving. 
 

Schedule - standard 3rd shift operational hours: 8:00pm - 6:00am Monday - Thursday with rotating Saturday (3 day weekends off every other week!)

Travel: Some travel may be required in this position to assist in other facilities. (Less than 5%)
