JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Summary: Production Planner 1 supports the Production Planning Supervisor for Westfield, Wells and Mocksville facilities to ensure production workload requirements are met. This position involves collaboration with internal customers such as Customer Service, Maintenance, Operations, Purchasing, R&D and Sales. Ensures that the organization is always represented in a professional manner. This position will prepare the right incumbent who demonstrates readiness to advance to PP Level 2.

 

Remote Work: This position, after a training period, is a hybrid of on-site (at least one day per week or as needed) and remote.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Updates the Production Planning Team on raw material inventories daily to replicate the beginning inventory for the day. Schedules will be updated by the planning team based on this information.
  • Reports any variances to the Production schedule through consistent review and comparison of items and volume produced to the prior day’s schedule and creates production orders for short and long-term planning through daily communication with the rest of the planning team.
  • Maintains multiple excel worksheets for putting the weekly plan together, facilitate daily changes, and responsible for scheduling multiple lines.
  • Update’s goal tracking sheets and sends out account inventories to sales.
  • Assists with determining amount of raw materials, equipment and manpower needed to cover production needs with the planning team.
  • Provides back-up for other Planning team members as needed.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • INTERNAL: Bachelor’s degree or associate degree OR, 3+ years’ increasingly complex experience in Production, Planning or Supply Chain logistics.
  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree OR three years’ experience in Production, Planning or Supply Chain logistics
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate and manage healthy internal relationships with all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong analytical, math and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in production planning and control in the food industry.
  • Understanding of BOM’s and Routings; knowledge of Warehouse & Inventory Management
  • SAP user experience
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (formula creation, graphs, pivot tables workbooks)

 

Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibilities

 

Work Environment: The work environment is an office environment with standard temperatures and normal office noise levels. Slippery floors and cool temperatures are present while in production. Must wear appropriate PPE and other equipment as necessary or required.

 

Physical Demands: This position would be primarily sitting with little to no lifting or other physical demands.

 

Position Type: Salaried Non-exempt, 1st shift, full-time, hybrid role of 80% offsite / 20% onsite.

 

Travel: Minimal travel required
