JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary: The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for team members and collaborates with multiple departments to ensure storage and transportation schedules to meet production, purchasing, and sanitation requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Empowers team members, through supervision, training, and feedback opportunities, to meet and exceed expectations for productivity, quality assurance, waste management and food/personal safety.
- Coordinates transportation on storage, trailers, loading priorities and routing.
- Supports all production lines by ensuring the delivery and timely removal of raw material and maintaining correct and timely inventories of all raw material, WIP, finished product, ingredients, and packaging.
- Manages shipping documentation, labeling, isolation and holds.
- Ensures compliance of company policies and procedures, safety regulations, GMP’s, SOP’s, SSOP’s, HACCP and SQF.
- Leads the performance appraisal and progressive, corrective action steps to promote positive and safe teamwork environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated three years supervisory or leadership skills in a shipping and receiving department or a bachelor’s degree and internship.
- Working knowledge of Shipping and Receiving
- PIT certified.
- Strong interpersonal skills, to include professional oral and written communication, a teamfocused approach, and the ability to model composure/make decisions in stressful situations.
- Able to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
- Competent in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior supervisory experience in a poultry/food processing setting
- Licensed for forklift, pallet jack, scissor lifts, and other PIT equipment.
- Prior experience with SAP or Infinity • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of general First Aid and CPR
- Supervisory Responsibility: This position will supervise the shipping team members at the Wells facility.
Work Environment: Wide variations in environment temperature (-10 freezer, 32-degree coolers, 40- degree plant, wet cold environment) noise, slippery floors and moving equipment.
Physical Demands: Position will include extensive standing at times, sitting, lifting, wearing factory required equipment while working in production, walking, visual, responding quickly to sounds and driving.
Position Type: Exempt, 1st shift.
Travel: Some travel may be required in this position to assist in other facilities. (Less than 5%)
