JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and organized QA Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of our department to ensure efficiency, compliance with regulations, and high-quality output. Your attention to detail and leadership skills will be vital in maintaining our standards and achieving our goals.

 

Essential Functions:

  • You will actively participate in the PRODUCT COMMERCIALIZATION PROCESS, ensuring that new products are successfully integrated into our operation. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing timelines, assessing FSQA related needs, collecting product samples, reviewing product, cooking product, etc.
  • You will be responsible for the efficient management of both internal and external samples. This includes organizing, tracking, and ensuring the timely delivery of samples to various stakeholders, including customers and internal departments for quality testing and analysis.
  • You will oversee the process of completing finished product assessments (cuttings) for product reviews, ensuring that samples are collected, stored, prepared, cooked, evaluated, and presented accurately for evaluation. This includes coordinating with multiple departments and customers.
  • You will be responsible for the allocation of personnel to different lines and shifts, ensuring that all positions are adequately staffed. Your role includes fostering effective communication between shifts and ensuring adherence to company policies and operational standards.
  • As a QA Lead, you will monitor departmental operations closely. When necessary, you will make real-time corrections to maintain productivity, uphold HACCP and SQF compliance, comply with USDA regulations, and achieve our quality objectives.
  • As with any dynamic organization, you may be assigned other responsibilities from time to time that contribute to the overall success of our operation.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and/or the ability to learn the required skills. Basic Excel skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, USDA regulations, and quality control procedures.
  • Experience working in food or manufacturing industries.
  • Prior experience with SAP and Infinity QS.
  • Experience with data analysis in Excel or Google Sheets

Supervisory Responsibility: Direct supervision of quality assurance technicians.

Work Environment: Exposure to varying temperatures from warm to cold, some heavy lifting, dust, noise, slippery floors. Must wear appropriate PPE and other equipment as necessary or required.

Physical Demands: Lifting classification, minimum of “B.” Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and lift items for up to 8 hours per day.

Position Type: Non-exempt; first shift; Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (schedule may vary); some Saturday work is required.  There may be times when shifting the work schedule will be necessary according to the facilities production schedule. Advanced notice will be given when available.

Travel: Some travel may be required in this position for training purposes. (Estimated at less than 5%)
