JOB DUTIES: 

  • Do a dry pick up. 
  • Tear down all the equipment for cleaning. 
  • Rinse then high pressure the equipment. Then foam the equipment rinse the equipment off checking for any deficiencies. 
  • Hand scrub when necessary. 
  • High pressure the room clean, foam, and rinse the room checking for any deficiencies. 
  • After pre-op is complete set up the room. 
  • Sanitize 
  • OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.  

 

BACKUP LEAD JOB DUTIES: 

  • Assign employees to various work areas and jobs. 
  • Direct or assist in training and monitor the progress of new employees. 
  • Be knowledgeable of all sanitation jobs in facility. 
  • Perform pre-op inspection throughout plant. 
  • Observe/monitor the work of employees during shift.  
  • Notify maintenance when problems arise. 
  • Notify QA of potential quality issues. 
  • Ensure Company policies and rules are followed. 
  • Complete all required paperwork or data entries, including such things as QA reports, WC accident or injury reports, etc.  Direct department actions in case of emergency. 
  • Fill in any sanitation position as need arises. 
  • Operate variety of powered equipment, high or low-pressure hoses to accomplish work assignments.  

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:  High noise levels, slippery floors, wet conditions, corrosive chemicals, fog, wide temperature variances, heavy equipment, pushing, pulling and lifting hazards are present.  Must wear appropriate PPE and other equipment as necessary or required. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Must currently work in sanitation.  Self-motivated individual, able to work with minimal supervision.  Must demonstrate strong communication skills.  Able to lead and motivate others.  Able to handle multiple activities in a stressful situation.  Must have thorough knowledge of chemicals, sanitation operations and the food processing equipment.  Must meet Lead Person physical abilities evaluation requirements.  Must be able to stand, walk, climb and lift up to 9 hours per day.
