Physical Classification: 1-8 (see Maintenance/Utilities Back & Task Chart) 

Hours: 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (Hours May Vary)  

Wage: $25.99-$37.47 based on experience 

  

JOB SUMMARY: Provide clerical assistance to supervisors and managers in the maintenance and utilities area, by producing a variety of documents, graphs, reports, etc. 

 

JOB DUTIES:   

  •  Maintain clean, safe working area. 

  • Wash walls, ceiling, floor, and railings of wastewater treatment plant 

  • Clean drains 

  • Clean DAF unit, mixing tanks, water pipes, and other areas as assigned. 

  • Operate DAF, and lift station without supervision to produce the best quality effluent possible. 

  • Identify and repair abnormalities in machinery and pumps. 

  • Utilize the current preventive maintenance schedule and workload. 

  • Keep the outside grounds around the wastewater treatment plant and lift station clean, neat, and orderly. 

  • The following duties as assigned will also be required to be completed: 

  • Clean screen in lift station. 

  • Observe outside plant activities on grounds and parking lot. 

  • Routing outside drains. 

  • Work in lift station to clean check valves and clean pumps.. 

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

  • Will be required to work with and safely handle a variety of chemicals.  

  • Able to tolerate wide variations in environment (temperature, humidity, flour, etc.) 

  • Several potential hazards are present, including working at heights, within confined space, with hazardous chemicals, heavy lifting. Operators are required to follow all safety practices and use proper equipment (barrel cart, ladders, PPE), to ensure the facility remains OSHA compliant and injuries and accidents are avoided. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: High noise, varied temperatures (warm to cold), slippery floors, moving equipment and dust may be present. Wear appropriate PPE and other equipment as necessary or required.  

  

QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet the Wastewater Treatment Technician Back & Task requirements. Must hold a valid driver’s license. Must have mechanical aptitude and ability to understand, troubleshoot and repair the equipment in WWTP. Basic welding skills, basic electrical repair capabilities, pipe fitting ability and knowledge of pneumatics. Will be required to obtain necessary related operators licenses as required by state or federal regulations.  

 

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Company will provide the required tools & equipment necessary for functioning in this position. Employees will be required to wear safety shoes and will be provided with prescription safety glasses if needed. Employees will wear safety equipment as it relates to the requirement for the task.
