JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Summary: Through our “One Team, One Mission” approach, the Maintenance Supply Supervisor leverages vendor relationships, product knowledge, and effective frontline leadership to maintain the cost-efficient inventory levels and quality internal services that keep our largest plant running.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provides effective organization of the Maintenance Supply: Tracks and uses data from the plant and industry to manage $6M+ of spare inventory, continuously adjusting supply to meet needs of a demanding plant and purchasing environment; expected to match industry and plant KPIs for cost and supply turnover. Updates, tracks, and reports on all metrics established through inventory maintenance, including material masters for over 14,000 SKUs, bill of materials on equipment, inventory levels managed through MRP, and cycle count programs. Analyzes data to balance the supply budget and guide forecasts.
  • Builds and maintains vendor relationships to secure best pricing and lead time. Works with a roster of ~750 industrial supply vendors to obtain the best price and quality. Effectively negotiates to secure fair pricing contracts, leveraging industry knowledge with company history and reputation. Seeks new vendor relations to provide multiple, diverse outlets to procure spare inventory with efficiency. Maintains vendor managed accounts (KeepStock inventory) that accounts for up to $20K/month of bin stock inventory.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership to Supply Room team members and beyond. Creates a positive working environment across three shifts through regular training, continuous feedback, and timely performance management.
  • Demonstrates Brakebush core competencies including conflict resolution within and across teams. Ensures team is current on departmental procedures and regulatory trainings. Keeps team well-informed on key decisions or changes that affect them. Serves as a resource for all maintenance personnel who access supply. Shares data, team goals, and results that impact operational decisions with other Maintenance leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Builds and maintains positive working internal relationships to expedite processes (e.g., Maintenance & Utilities, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, etc.) Navigates invoicing, delivery, and shortage issues by working seamlessly with internal partners. Includes prompt and professional responses to multiple inquiries in a fast-paced environment. Collaborates on supply room procedures and policies for continuous improvement.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Supply Chain Management/related field or four years’ equivalent experience in a related field
  • Four years’ increasingly complex role in supply chain and/or maintenance environment
  • Experience leading teams and/or projects
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability in fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Competent in SAP or data-tracking software
  • Experience in food manufacturing
  • Supervision of multiple shifts

 

Supervisory Responsibility: This position supervises a team of supply room clerks across three shifts.

 

Work Environment: Primarily office environment, with expectation to work in wide variations in environment temperature (-40-degree Freezers, 32-degree coolers, 40-degree production area, wet cold environment); noise, slippery floors and moving equipment in operations setting.

 

Physical Demands: Position will include standing, sitting, lifting, climbing ladders, wearing factory required equipment while working in production, walking, visual, responding quickly to sounds and driving.

 

Position Type: Exempt, primarily first shift; expected to work off hours to work with all team members that report to this position.

 

Travel: Travel is not required, but may be asked.
