JOB DESCRIPTION 

 

Summary: The Network Application Administrator will provide general network and phone system support and maintenance.  This role will respond to service tickets for the network and phone system within the needed SLAs and will be measured with defined KPIs in relation to the network and phone system.  This role will also be responsible for creating and maintaining network and phone system documentation.  Finally this system will be responsible for the company’s camera, door control, and radio systems.



Essential Functions:   

 

  • Helps with projects for improving or upgrading systems, works with vendors for the best design for our environment, and determines appropriate specifications for company network. 
  • Provides support and maintenance for all networking gear and will be responsible for creating and maintaining network and phone system documentation as well as documentation for the camera, door control and radio systems.  
  • Communicates all work to be done on the network as per Brakebush guidelines and provide root cause for any unscheduled outages and works with management and the rest of the network team on short and long-range planning for the network.
  • Works closely with other IT teams to troubleshoot issues. 

 

Required Qualifications:   

 

  • Associate’s Degree or one year of Network Application Support experience in a manufacturing setting. 
  • Able to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner. 
  • Proficient in both oral and written communication. 
  • Experience with Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Phone Systems or WAN.
  • Ability to research and resolve issues with some/occasional assistance.
  • Ability to lead projects and coordinate with other parts of the business as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:   

 

  • Experience working in the Food industry 
  • Knowledge of or experience with Cisco Phone Systems, Cisco Switches, Routers, and various network security platforms.
  • Knowledge of or experience with camera, door, and/or radio systems.

 

Supervisory Responsibility: No direct reports. 

 

Work Environment: The work environment will primarily be an office environment at a desk and on the phone as needed.  Some travel and work in a factory environment as needed to deal with equipment. 

 

Physical Demands: The physical demands of this job including bending, sitting for long stretches, lifting, wearing factory-required equipment while in production, driving, walking around in a production plant environment, and safe climbing of ladders. 

 

Position Type: This is a first shift position with regular after-hours work for maintenance, upgrades, and installs. 

 

Travel: This position is based out of the Westfield facility but can travel up to 10% of the time depending on the needs of the business during the year.  Some travel will be over weekends and may last a week or more if the project requires.  This may grow as the company expands.
