JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Summary: The Plant Manager is responsible for leading the operation at the company’s Westfield production facility.  The Plant Manager will have responsibility, through direct and dotted-line reporting, for all functions and individuals at the facility, and will ensure that the team safely and efficiently manufactures Brakebush products at full capacity while upholding the company’s One Team, One Mission philosophy.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Provides Leadership for the Westfield plant.  The incumbent serves as the leader of the Westfield plant.  The incumbent actively promotes a positive culture consistent with the company mission statement; directs activities and manages performance; develops talent at all levels and on all shifts within the facility; and provides guidance that ensures the successful operation of the facility.

 

  • Ensures safety, quality, and compliance at the Westfield plant.  The incumbent ensures that the operation is conducted in a manner consistent with company standards.  In doing so, the incumbent is responsible for the safety of all team members; the safety and quality of all food produced; the maintaining of equipment and premises in proper working condition; and the adherence to all applicable policies, procedures, laws, formulas, and overall company expectations.

 

  • Drives optimal operational results at the Westfield plant.  The incumbent strives to optimize operational results, without sacrificing safety and quality, by regularly reviewing, recommending, and implementing changes; driving continuous improvement; maximizing efficiency and productivity; operating in a financially responsible manner; and establishing programs designed to enhance all aspects of the operation.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in increasingly complex food manufacturing roles
  • 10+ years of experience managing a team in a production environment.
  • Experience with HAACP and SQF programs
  • Able to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
  • Able to collaborate and work in diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in both oral and written communication.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook/other e-mail software


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a further-processed chicken production facility.
  • Experience as a Plant Manager in a food manufacturing facility

 

Supervisory Responsibility: Directly supervises all Production Managers and Sanitation Managers.


Work Environment: This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.  The role also requires regularly being present on the refrigerated food production floor.

 

Physical Demands: The physical demands of the job include bending, sitting, lifting, driving, and walking on a food production floor.

 

Position Type: Exempt, 1st shift primary and other shifts as needed.

 

Travel: Occasional travel to other production locations as necessary.
