2nd Shift Quality Assurance Technician 

HOURS:   1:15p.m. – 9:45p.m.  Hours will vary 

WAGE:    $22.78 per hour 

RESPONSIBILITY:  The Q.A. technician reports to and derives authority from his/her Quality Assurance Supervisor/Lead Person.  These individuals have the authority to take action as necessary to carry out appointed duties. 

JOB SUMMARY: Ensure that products produced, in your area of responsibility, are in accordance with established QA guidelines.  

JOB DUTIES: 

1. Batter tests. 

2. Net weights. 

3. Product temperature checks (frozen/ fully cooked). 

4. Box counts/ Portion weight checks. 

5. Boneless product inspection. 

6. Inedible dock checks. 

7. Hold/ release record keeping. 

8. Scale/ metal detector checks. 

9. General record keeping/ filing. 

10. Condemned/ contamination reports. 

11. Research data for customer complaints. 

12. Sample collection for bacti / prep and fat and moisture. 

13. Formulation/ marination checks. 

14. Returned product inspection/ paperwork. 

15. FFA test on oils.  

16. Cooler checks. 

17. Assist with receiving inspection. 

18. Tolerant of extended periods of time standing, walking & variation in environment (temperatures, humidity, flour, etc.). 

19. Bug light checks (weekly). Rodent trap checks (inside/outside) (monthly). 

20. Thermometer calibrations. 

21. Sanitation inspections (inside/ outside). 

22. Mid-shift swabs (as requested). 

23. Verify monitor tests to satisfy HACCP/SQF. 

24. Perform other duties as assigned. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to varying temperatures from warm to cold, some heavy lifting, dust, noise, slippery floors.  Wear appropriate PPE and other equipment as necessary or required. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or equivalent. Weight lifting class of 3-7 or willing to test.  Math test will be administered to applicants who have never previously been tested.  Computer knowledge and the ability to work well with other departments is essential.  Self mitivated, quality minded, reliable individual.  Must be able to work with little supervision.  Ability to use Radio/phone system.  Strict confidentiality a must. 

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check are required.
