HOURS: 5:00A.M- 2:15 P.M (Hours will vary dependent on line assignment)
WAGE: $23.64 per hour (QA Tech 1 Level)
JOB SUMMARY: It is the responsibility of the Packing Room Quality Control Technician (PRQCT) to follow work instructions and complete all assigned tasks. It is also the responsibility of the PRQCT to complete all required documentation relevant to SQF Policies and QA/QC related issues arising during the shift. Communication and teamwork are expected of this individual. Quality Assurance is a policy enforcement department, so the PRQCT is expected to enforce company policies regarding employees' behaviors. This position should always exemplify "best practices”.
OPERATOR JOB DUTIES:
- Perform frozen temperature and line metal detector checks.
- Perform bag x-ray/bag metal detector/ box x-ray/box metal detector checks.
- Bone Checks.
- Verify slicer blade conditions.
- Complete product quality checks on finished product (sieve testing, box counts, dimensions, etc.)
- Ensure proper date code information are on bags
- Maintain clean and safe work environment.
- Required paperwork.
- Complete data entry in the Infinity system.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work environment may be wet and can consist of temperature extremes and excessive noise levels. Employee will be required to adhere to general safety and food safety protocols which will include wearing proper PPE. This position consistently works with and around moving parts. Attention to surroundings is crucial as it is a very busy production/manufacturing environment. This position will rotate throughout every production line on a scheduled basis and will also be trained as a backup for the Fully Cooked Quality Control Technician. Safety training is provided.
QUALIFICATIONS: Well motivated person, work well with little supervision, work and communicate well with fellow employees, and is quality conscious. Basic knowledge of Food Safety and hygiene. Must be able to multi-task, stay organized, and think on their feet. Must meet the physical abilities evaluation requirements for this position. Must successfully complete all required training including Lock Out/Tag Out/ Math Test. A high school diploma is also required.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check are required.
